Riley was raised in the wizarding world with a muggle father and a witch mother. The home he came from was an odd one, often visited by odd people such as the Doctor, and the exuberant Jack Harkness and his friends, but it never lacked love. Where most young wizards and witches learn about others of their kind and muggles, Riley and his sisters learned not only about them, but other worlds and beings outside of the human race. On the surface Riley comes off as arrogant and confidant, but he really on the inside is terrified of failing not only his family, but himself. He did fairly well while at Hogwarts, never really standing out or making a real name for himself, but also not doing terrible either. Though he was sorted in to Gryffindor he also held characteristics of the other houses, aside from slytherin, he has a brilliant mind, is ingenious, as well as nervy and chivalrous. Of all the qualities within him he had more that led him to the Gryffindor house thus his sorting. Once graduated he immediately went to work for the ministry in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, something he seemed to relate well to. Though he was very dedicated to his job he doesn’t let it consume him. Riley has a very bold and somewhat arrogant personality, but that hides a lot of confusion and insecurity. Though he manages to hold the insecurity inside he does occasionally let it show. He also has a firm romantic side, and when he falls for someone, he falls hard.
